As a candidate, how is my confidentiality protected?

NYEdJobs.org respects your privacy and understands the need for confidentiality. We offer the following two enrollment choices:
Public Enrollment: School districts will have the ability to view your complete Personal Profile, including your contact information, as well as have the ability to download your complete resume.
Confidential Enrollment: School districts will NOT have the ability to view your contact information; instead, you will receive notification when a specific school district has selected your Personal Profile in their search. The choice will be yours whether or not to initiate formal contact with the district. All contact information will NOT be made available without your approval.

What is the difference between an interim candidate and a permanent candidate?

An interim candidate is one who seeks short-term or temporary employment only. Contact and resume information will be forwarded to the Educational Learning Corporation (ELC) to be accessed when an interim position becomes available.
A permanent candidate is one who seeks full-time employment within the education field. A permanent candidate can choose to enroll either publicly or confidentially and will be added to the NYEdJobs.org database.

What is NYEdJobs.org and how can it help my school?

NYEdJobs.org is a powerful job-matching service for educators and school districts that spares the task of reviewing numerous applications and resumes. Our three-step process includes a one-time registration to create a detailed District Profile, a simple one-page posting form to post a position for immediate viewing on the website and a sophisticated search engine to refine a candidate pool and select only qualified individuals that meet the needs of the position.

How do I register my school with NYEdJobs.org?

To register your school district with NYEdJobs.org, simply visit our homepage and click "Enroll Now" under "School Distrit Enrollment". School districts are asked to complete a variety of information that can be found in several documents, including the BEDS report, the School Report Card and the school financial statement (ST3); the information is not required, however, all information entered does help create a more detailed District Profile for your district.
The District Profile gives your school district the opportunity to showcase the school community, special programs and much more. For smaller districts, the District Profile can promote and highlight the features that make them unique, including awards and recognitions, local activities and detailed student and faculty information.

We do accept positions from private and parochial schools; however, you do need to contact NYEdJobs.org at 800/303-JOBS (800/303-5627) to be added to our website. We would be happy to add your school in a matter of minutes!

How does a school post a position with NYEdJobs.org?

Upon completion of the registration process, your school district will enter an approval process; within one business day, your school district will be approved and contacted via e-mail by the NYEdJobs.org staff. You do not need to wait until you are approved to begin posting a position with NYEdJobs.org.
Our online Job Posting Form is one page and consists of drop-down menus from which to choose your position title and four unlimited free-form text boxes that allow you to be as general or as specific as necessary. These text boxes allow for detailed information on the position description, duties and responsibilities, preferred qualifications and additional information; all or none of the boxes may be completed.

Our text boxes allow the ability to cut the information from an existing document (such as a brochure or website) and paste it into our Job Posting Form.

How does a school search the NYEdJobs.org candidate database?

Once a position has been posted with NYEdJobs.org, the school district can begin the candidate search. With one click, a report is generated that includes all candidates within our database that have enrolled for the position listed in the region that you are located.
We think that the most unique aspect of NYEdJobs.org is our sophisticated search engine. With our search engine, a school district is able to narrow down the initial list by any number of criteria. For example, if you have posted a Secondary Math Teaching position, but want the candidate dual-certified in chemistry, you can narrow the initial list by certification. If you also want the person to coach a particular inter-curricular sport, you can further narrow the list by adding coaching criteria.

The narrowed report provides and overview that includes years of experience and GPAs to help you choose on ly those candidates that interest you. In addition, our built-in rating system allows you to keep track of candidates that you have already viewed.

From years of experience to residence zip code, the school district can be as specific as necessary to find only the top candidates just right for the position.

Does a school have the ability to search the candidate database without posting a position?

Yes. With NYEdJobs.org, school districts have the ability to post a position either publicly or confidentially:
Public Position Postings: A publicly posted position is uploaded onto the website for viewing by all enrolled candidates. Upon posting the position, an e-mail is automatically generated and sent to all candidates within the system who have enrolled for a similar position with your school district’s region.
Confidential Position Postings: Confidentially posted positions are not uploaded to the website; instead, the position details are stored only for viewing by the school district. This offers the flexibility for the school district to search the database for potential candidates without advertising the position.

What if one of my candidates is listed as “confidential?”

Just as a school district has the opportunity to post positions publicly or confidentially, candidates have the ability for public enrollment or confidential enrollment. Public enrollment allows school districts to view a complete Personal Profile, including contact information, as well as the ability to download a complete resume.
Confidential enrollment allows a district to view educational information and professional qualifications, as well as a general idea of the location of the candidate (area code and zip code); however, all identifying contact information is withheld until contact is initiated by the school district.

With one click, an e-mail is generated and sent to the candidate indicating the interested school district along with a hyperlink directing the candidate to the online position details. At that time, the candidate is invited to release the complete Personal Profile for further contact.
